Eyes Open

It all begins with an idea.

You asked me to write a poem as I know it

So here I am writing in low lit

Lighting. It’s terrifying what I feel for you

But you just have no idea, no clue

How I can see things, how I see through

The deeper layers of things said

They show what runs through your head

I see shapes, patterns and colors in people

I don’t see them as much as I feel

Actions always spoke louder than words

Though, silence is how and when you learn

The truth of another person’s essence

How I long for unshakable presence

The kind that stays with eyes open

Eyes that understand this kind of poem

Once more, I’ll tell you what’s on my mind,

While we let time run out of time

When we drip the act, drop the roles

You embrace the truth of your soul

The you before you were ever born

The you after you’ve lost your form

That’s the you, I’ve been looking for

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
